Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By accessing or using RadonBase.com (“RadonBase,” “we,” or “the Site”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site. These terms apply to all users — homeowners, mitigator contractors, and visitors.

2. What RadonBase Provides

RadonBase operates a directory of NRPP- and NRSB-certified radon mitigation contractors. We also provide:

  • Lead routing — connecting homeowners who submit quote requests with nearby certified contractors
  • Paid contractor listing plans (Pro and Elite) with enhanced visibility features
  • An equipment shop linking to third-party retailers via affiliate links
  • Informational content about radon, mitigation, and costs

RadonBase is a marketplace platform. We do not perform radon mitigation, sell equipment directly, or employ any contractor listed in our directory.

3. Directory Listings and Credential Verification

Listing data is sourced from public NRPP and NRSB certification records. We verify certification status at the time of listing creation and during periodic updates, but we do not continuously monitor credential expiration in real time.

RadonBase does not endorse, warranty, or guarantee the quality, safety, pricing, or workmanship of any contractor listed in the directory. You are responsible for independently verifying a contractor’s credentials, insurance, and licensing before hiring them. NRPP credentials can be verified at nrpp.info; NRSB credentials at nrsb.org.

RadonBase is not affiliated with NRPP, NRSB, or the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

4. Homeowner Use and Lead Submission

When you submit a quote request, you authorize RadonBase to share your contact information (name, email, phone, zip code, message) with up to three certified mitigators in your area. You may also receive a FOMO notification email sent to nearby free-tier mitigators informing them a lead was sent in their area — no personal information is included in those emails.

You agree not to submit false, misleading, or fraudulent quote requests. Abuse of the lead system may result in your email address being blocked.

5. Contractor Listings and Paid Plans

Claiming a listing: By submitting a claim request, you represent that you are the contractor or an authorized representative, that the certification information you provide is accurate, and that you hold current NRPP or NRSB certification. RadonBase reserves the right to verify claims and remove listings that do not meet certification requirements.

Subscriptions: Pro ($49/month) and Elite ($149/month) plans are billed monthly in advance via Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew until cancelled. You may cancel at any time from your dashboard; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial months.

Plan features: Feature availability is subject to change with 30 days’ notice. Downgrade or discontinuation of a feature does not entitle subscribers to a refund.

Lead delivery: RadonBase does not guarantee a minimum number of leads. Lead volume depends on homeowner traffic in your state and is outside RadonBase’s direct control.

6. Equipment Shop

The RadonBase equipment shop links to third-party retailers (including Amazon) via affiliate links. RadonBase may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no additional cost to you. We do not sell, ship, or fulfill physical products directly.

Product availability, pricing, and descriptions are maintained by the respective retailers. RadonBase makes no warranty regarding product quality, fitness for a particular purpose, or suitability for DIY installation. For radon levels above 8 pCi/L or for complex foundation types, we recommend hiring a certified mitigator.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

  • Use the Site to collect contractor contact information for commercial purposes unrelated to radon mitigation
  • Submit fraudulent claim requests, fake leads, or false certification data
  • Scrape, crawl, or systematically harvest directory data without written permission
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Site’s infrastructure, APIs, or other users
  • Impersonate a contractor, RadonBase staff, or any other person
  • Use the Site in violation of any applicable federal, state, or local law

8. Intellectual Property

All content on RadonBase — including text, design, blog articles, city guides, and code — is owned by or licensed to RadonBase and is protected by U.S. copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from Site content without written permission.

By submitting a listing claim, bio, or other content to RadonBase, you grant RadonBase a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display that content on the Site and in related marketing materials for as long as your listing remains active.

9. Third-Party Services

RadonBase uses Stripe for payment processing, Supabase for data storage, Resend for transactional email, and Vercel for hosting. Your use of these services through RadonBase is also subject to those providers’ terms of service. RadonBase is not responsible for the acts, omissions, or policies of third-party service providers.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and all content are provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. RadonBase does not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. Radon-related information on the Site is for general informational purposes only and is not a substitute for professional testing or mitigation advice.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, RadonBase and its operators, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

  • Your use of or inability to use the Site
  • Any contractor you contact or hire through the directory
  • Any radon mitigation work performed or not performed by any contractor
  • Loss of data, revenue, or profits
  • Any third-party products purchased through affiliate links

In all cases, RadonBase’s total liability to you shall not exceed the amount you paid to RadonBase in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100, whichever is greater.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless RadonBase and its operators from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Site; (b) any content you submit to the Site; (c) your violation of these Terms; or (d) your violation of any third party’s rights.

13. Dispute Resolution

Informal resolution: Before initiating any formal proceeding, you agree to contact RadonBase at support@radonbase.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

Binding arbitration: If informal resolution fails, any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be resolved by binding individual arbitration under the American Arbitration Association’s Consumer Arbitration Rules, not in court. You waive any right to a jury trial and any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration.

Exception: Either party may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in a court of competent jurisdiction for matters involving intellectual property infringement or misuse.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any court proceedings not subject to arbitration shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Wyoming.

15. Account Termination

RadonBase reserves the right to suspend or terminate any contractor listing or account, with or without notice, for violations of these Terms, submission of false certification data, abuse of the lead system, or any conduct that RadonBase determines, in its sole discretion, to be harmful to the Site, its users, or the integrity of the directory. Termination does not entitle the contractor to a refund of unused subscription fees.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated by updating the “Last updated” date above and, for active paid subscribers, by email. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
